I was pretty surprised by how much fun I had living off-grid in a yurt on the Big Island of Hawaii—it was much easier than I had expected and also very freeing. Living off-grid doesn’t mean doing without it just means doing things differently (and with a much lower impact). You can have lights at night if you want them and even WiFi though they will be powered by solar panels and you will only have so much energy to use. When it’s done lights out.
The beautiful home is nestled in a lovely lot that overlooks Ingaro and is spread across a generous. Surrounded by pine trees a curated Japanese garden and natural rocks that play an important role in the look and feel of the structure the house has an exterior that melts away into the backdrop with ease. The iron based color scheme of the exterior ensures that maintenance is kept to a minimum while the interior takes on a completely different look with a more cheerful pleasant and modern vibe.
