Designing a contemporary home that blends into the natural rustic countryside that surrounds it is an inherently difficult task at the best of times. The job becomes even more challenging when the lot has a few quirky features that need to be seamlessly integrated with the stylish structure occupying the space.
The dashing renovation and the gorgeous extension in the rear completely alter the interior while extending the living area to a more spacious. This was achieved by adding a two-story glass extension to the rear which brought in ample natural ventilation and by converting the old unused attic into a lovely master suite.
This tiny cottage has just two rooms; the main room and a kitchen/dining area (plus bathroom) laid out in a row a common building style at the time it was built. A couple would start out with two rooms and add onto them over time when they had the money and/or labor to do so.
Designed by McClean Design the entrance of the house weaves through a lovely landscape shaped by a water feature and a stylish staircase. The unique entry leads to the lower level of the house that contains the guest rooms office and storage while the top level houses the living spaces and the master bedroom.
